Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Reaching the promise land for the first time without their famous star, the Edmonton Oilers hoisted the Stanley Cup in 1990, and proved the team could win without Wayne Gretzky. Going five games, the Oilers battled the Boston Bruins in the final, with netminder Bill Ranford earning MVP honours. This 1990 Oilers Stanley Cup championship 10K gold ring was originally purchasable by team members for a special lady in their life. Size 4.5 with an approx weight of 6 grams, 5 zirconia grace the tableau, with "Stanley Cup 1990" encircling the bezel in slanted, raised letters. "Oilers" appears over each shank, with a "10K" Jostens hallmark stamped to the inner band. The ring shows light to moderate wear, with scratches to the band and shanks.
