The Atlanta Thrashers may be gone but they are not forgotten. While the 2000s expansion franchise lives on as the second incarnation of the Winnipeg Jets, the Thrashers live on in their distinctive asymmetrical jersey with “ATLANTA” spelled out in bold gold letters on a navy blue band on the left sleeve. Paul Postma wore this Thrashers jersey during preseason action prior to the 2009-10 season and it is photo-matched by Getty Images #91230845, a shot of him in Atlanta’s home game against Carolina at Phillips Arena on September 21, 2009. It clearly shows the cut/mark through the middle of the left side of the “0” on the back, and the yellow thread on the “0” on the right sleeve is also noticeable. Size 58 flag tag hangs in the back of the neck of this preseason game-worn jersey that has adhesive residue from a previous “C” on the left breast. Postma did not make his NHL debut until 2010-11, when he played one game with Atlanta before the franchise moved to Winnipeg, where he played parts of the next six seasons between the NHL and AHL before playing the last 14 of his 205 NHL games with Boston in 2017-18 before continuing his pro career in Europe.
