Second to only HOFer Jack Morris for most wins during the decade of the 1980s, Dave Stieb would be named an all-star seven (7) times during his Major League career and his 56.9 career wins above replacement (according to Baseball-Reference) are the highest of any Blue Jays pitcher in franchise history. Owning Toronto franchise records for complete games (103), strikeouts (1,658), and innings pitched (2,873), Stieb, known for flirting with with no-hitters, reached the ninth inning with no hits four times in five years before accomplishing the feat in 1990, throwing the first, and to date only, no-hitter in Blue Jays history on September 2nd, 1990 against the Cleveland Indians. Offered here, we present this Blue Jays jersey worn by Stieb during the 1991 season. A Wilson made button-up style garment with a brand/size "44" tag sewn over the inner collar along with a fly tag displaying a code reading "DX", a swatch of fabric with "37 91 1" sewn into it via blue threads is found affixed to the inner collar as well. Decorated over the front with "Blue Jays" is dual layer white-over-blue layered tackle twill letters that are arched across the chest, a Blue Jays logo patch that features embroidered details is found underneath while a 1991 MLB All-Star Game patch (hosted by the Blue Jays) has been added over the left sleeve. Having had Stieb's number "37" sewn over the reverse in matching style dual-layer stacked numerals, "Stieb" is spelt out above in single layer blue twill numbers that have been gently arched across the top of the back. Exhibiting light game-wear via a few marks over both the front and reverse, light rubbing is seen on the interior of the placket as well while minor sweat staining graces the area around the collar on both sides. Showing evidence of numerous washings via some minor fading to the knitted blue and white stripes at the end of each sleeve as well as to the inner collar tag, Stieb has signed the reverse of the jersey between the numbers with a bold black ink signature that displays without issue. Additionally, the jersey has been photo-matched to Getty Image #515120673 (April 13th, 1991 vs Milwaukee) to the particulars and spacing of the twill layers in the letters spelling out "Blue Jays" on the front of the jersey.
