One of Canada's oldest sporting clubs, the Hamilton Tigers formed in 1869, and for most of the franchise's existence, played in the Ontario Rugby Football Union. Five-time Grey Cup champions, the Tigers played until 1949, when they merged with the crosstown Wildcats to form the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. This unique original artwork features signatures from Tigers players spanning throughout the 1930s. At 20" x 26", and featuring an attractive black ink line drawn tiger, 27 have signed the perimeter of the tiger, including Seymour Wilson, Bernie Thornton, Cliff Buster Reed, Bill Friday, George Stull, Jack Craig, Gerry Brock, Jimmie Simpson, Glen Small, Jim Smiley, John Agnew, John Ferraro, Bill Thompson, Eddie Wright and a few others. There is some water staining present and wear along the left hand side. A number of small period newsprint cutouts of Tigers players were originally mounted with the artwork, and they will accompany.
