Jumping over to the upstart WHA beginning with the league's first season of play in 1972-73 as a member of the Cleveland Crusaders, Gerry Cheevers would post a career WHA record of 99-78-9 in 191 games played over the course of three and a half seasons with Cleveland. Named to the WHA All-Star Game in each of his four (4) seasons of play, offered here is this jersey worn by Cheevers during the 1974-75 WHA All-Star Game played on January 25th, 1975 in Edmonton at Northlands Coliseum. A mesh construction garment with Gerry Cosby and size "L" tagging affixed inside the reverse hem, the jersey measures out to roughly a size "52". Featuring a rubberized WHA team crest over the front, “WHA” appears over the lower front while red and white coloured stars appear over both of the sleeves and shoulders. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Cheevers' number "30" in dual layer red-over-white tackle twill numerals, "Cheevers" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been affixed directly to the jersey across the top of the back. Worn for just a single contest with Cheevers playing just one period during the game itself, the jersey displays with light wear in the form of a small burn on the right hip, a small stick mark through the "0" on the reverse, a couple of small rust spots in the white of the shoulders and light evidence of rubbing over the lower arms from Cheevers' gloves while light wear is also exhibited to the rubberized logos and graphics from age. A true relic from one of the best to play in the rival league, an LOA will accompany the piece.
