Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
The sixth overall draft pick in 2005, selected by Columbus, Gilbert Brule was the WHL playoff MVP and led the Memorial Cup in scoring, as part of the Vancouver Giants' WHL championship-winning season in 2006. Dressing for three different NHL clubs during his career, Brule also saw action in the AHL along with numerous seasons in the KHL. From his second of three seasons in Alberta, we have an Edmonton Oilers jersey worn by Brule in 2009-10. An Elite Sportswear label and “56” size tag are affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the classic oil drop team crest with embroidered detailing, “67” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Brule” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. Exhibiting a few material pulls including beneath the team crest, there are marks to the sleeves along with a pair of small holes near the left elbow. There is also some threading added to shorten the circumference on the right sleeve. A Meigray tag numbered "G09678" is affixed to the inside hem near the team patch, and according to the population report, the jersey is a "White Set 2" specimen.
