Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Operating between 2002 and 2017, the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League served as the main minor league affiliate of the Ottawa Senators for their entire AHL history and would win a Calder Cup championship in 2011. Boasting an alumni list that includes names such as Erik Karlsson, Jason Spezza and Mika Zibanejad, offered here is this collection of four (4) Binghamton Senators game-used and game-issued jerseys that date between 2007 and 2016. A mix of their regular uniforms as well as special theme night specimens, the players featured include Bryan Rodney (2007-08 game-issued – unsigned – no COA), Tyler Ekford (2012-13 St. Patrick’s Day – game-issued – signed – no COA), Peter Mannino (2014-15 St. Patrick’s Day – game-used – signed – no COA) and Alexander Guptill (2015-16 Ugly Sweater Night – game-issued – signed – team COA). All made by either Reebok or CCM and accented over the reverse neckline and hems with a mix of Reebok or CCM brand logos as well as AHL league crests, the fronts of each have been decorated with Binghamton team crests that feature embroidered details with sponsorship patches over the right breasts of the Rodney and Ekford examples. Featuring a mix of Binghamton alternate logo crests and Ottawa Senators patches over the shoulders of all the included jerseys, the jerseys range in size from “56”, “58”, “58+” and “58G” while the sleeves and versos have all had each players numbers and name sewn to them while the theme day jerseys display with special graphics sublimated directly into the material. Of note, the Rodney jersey has a 2007-08 team tag affixed to the inner collar as well with “GI” handwritten in black marker to denote that it was only issued to him and not worn and has a 2008 AHL All-Star Classic patch over the reverse hem. All remaining in excellent condition with pro on-ice elements such as fight straps and reinforced elbows, the Ekford and Guptill jerseys show some small spot stains worth mentioning for accuracy while the Mannino, the only game-used example, displays wear through a puck mark over the right sleeve and a black mark over the right shoulder. With all but the Rodney signed over the reverse, all display well except for the Ekford whose signature has faded heavily. A fabulous quartet of B-Sens offerings, the Guptill is accompanied by a Senators COA and has a Senators team tag sewn inside the reverse hem.
