Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Playing in a combined total of sixteen (16) games for the Houston Aeros during the 2003-04 season, the Aeros would lose out to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in the first round of playoffs. Offered here, we present this jersey worn during the 2003-04 campaign by both Ben Storey and Bill Muckalt. Made by SP Apparel, brand and size “56” labeling appear affixed to the inner collar while the SP logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem alongside a placed AHL league crest. Accented over the reverse neckline with an additional AHL patch, the front of the all-mesh construction garment is decorated with “Aeros” diagonally down the chest in single layer white twill letters in an homage to the WHA team of the same name from the past. Featuring a Houston Aeros 10th anniversary patch over the left breast, an outline of its lower position on the front is observed underneath it (due to Muckalt wearing the alternate captain’s “A”) while matching Aeros alternate logo crests reside over each shoulder. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Storey’s number “27” sewn on in dual layer white-over-light blue tackle twill numerals, “Storey” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting game-use via board burns over both sleeves, the left one also sports unrepaired holes while the right displays a red paint transfer. An Aeros LOA will accompany the piece.
