This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2023
Beginning and concluding his HOF career in Chicago with the Black Hawks, Denis Savard was drafted 3rd overall in 1980 and spent 17 seasons in the NHL, scoring over 1,300 points in just under 1,200 regular-season games. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000, we offer a photo-matched Black Hawks jersey worn by the superstar during the first half of the 1995-96 NHL season. A CCM label and size “52” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with NHL and CCM crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the traditional multi-coloured Indian head team crest with chain-stitched detailing, “18” appears over the sleeve and verso in white-over-black tackle twill, with matching tomahawk crests over each shoulder. A bar code has also been added to the interior near the fight strap. Savard has signed the reverse "8" in black marker, with some fading to the signature. Sporting a large "L-shaped" team repair to the right front, the jersey also exhibits marks over the front band and burns to the sleeves, with 4 team repairs to the right sleeve and 3 to the left sleeve. Getty Image #222228 (Dec 29, 1995) has been matched to the loose threading on both the "1" and "8" of "18" on the left sleeve, with anomalies to the tomahawk crest on the left shoulder also matching. An LOA from the Hawks signed by both Savard and HOFer Bob Pulford will accompany.
