Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023

Selected 68th overall by the Quebec Nordiques at the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, David Karpa enjoyed a lengthy pro career which included time in both the NHL and AHL. From his time with Carolina, we have a signed Hurricanes jersey worn by the Regina native in 1999-2000. A CCM label with size “56” fly tag and handwritten "33" sits affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an attractive multi-coloured Hurricanes team crest with embroidered detailing, the solid red V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with alternate sewn to each shoulder. There is also the NHL 2000 crest and Raleigh Arena inaugural patch over the right breast, with the “3” crest over the left shoulder to honour Steve Chiasson. The jersey shows light use, with a few marks over the right elbow and shoulder. Karpa has signed the first reverse "3" in black marker, with the signature presenting beautifully.
