Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Of the 16 members of the Hockey Hall of Fame inducted in the Referee and Linesman category, only 5 were predominantly linesmen. John D'Amico can count himself as a member of this exclusive club. In a career that stretched from 1964 to 1987, John amassed 1,604 NHL games as a linesman. He worked the lines for 20 Stanley Cup Final Series', 7 All-Star Games, 4 Canada Cups, the 1979 Challenge Cup, and the 1987 Rendez-Vous Series. His retirement in 1987 marked the departure of the last official from the Original Six era. John was granted the ultimate honour in 1993 when he was called to the Hockey Hall of Fame. This jersey dates to the early-1980s and was worn by D'Amico. A Tease Knitting label is affixed to the collar, with the acrylic jersey sporting the traditional vertical white and black stripes, with an NHL shield logo over the left breast and "D'Amico" across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Nice use is shown with wear to the material and no obtrusive marks. An LOA will accompany.
