A tough and rugged defenceman originally drafted 16th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1987, Bryan Marchment would play in 926 National Hockey League games over the course of his career, with this Tampa Bay Lightning third jersey worn by him during his short stint with the club in 1997-98. Made by CCM, partially sewn over size “56” and “Made in Canada” labels are affixed to the inner collar while both the CCM logo and NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a familiar Lightning team crest that features both embroidered and textured details, the desirable third jersey, sporting a storm design throughout the body and sleeves has also been accented with the John Cullen patch worn by the team during the season over the right breast. Having had Marchment’s number “23” sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer tackle twill numerals, “Marchment” is spelt out in similar dual layer tackle twill style via letters that are arched across the affixed matching nameplate. Having been customized at both the sides and underside of both sleeves to enlarge the garment to Marchment’s liking, the jersey displays light game-wear through a small number of board burns over the right sleeve along with some marks near the left cuff as well and some damage to the bottom of the collar. Additionally, a couple of fabric snags are present throughout, the largest of which is observed at the lower front on the right side.
