Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Often called the “Golden Era” of the National Hockey League, the “Original Six” included teams from Toronto, Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, New York and Boston and lasted from 1942 to 1967 with those six (6) teams laying combining to win the most Stanley Cup championships among NHL franchises. Offered here, is this collection of signed “Original Six” jerseys that includes the likes of Johnny Bower (Toronto), Dominik Hasek (Detroit), Patrick Roy (Montreal), Glenn Hall (Chicago), Ed Giacomin (New York) and Phil Esposito (Boston). A mix of CCM, Reebok and generic made jerseys meant for autographs, all are decorated with tackle twill logos and player numbers/names and range in sizes from L up to XXL. All remaining in excellent condition with no major flaws to make note of, the Hall, Roy and Hasek offerings are found with their original brand tags affixed to the cuff of the left sleeve. All having been individually signed in either black or silver marker, all the autographs display well and remain legible though the signatures for Bower and Esposito display with fading from age/light exposure. Void of any COA’s, all except the Hasek example sports a hologram sticker for its autograph on the reverse numbers including those done by JSA on the Esposito and Giacomin jerseys. Of note, the sticker on the Hall signed jersey has come loose. A wonderful group of jerseys signed by some of the best to ever play the game, don’t miss out on these!
