This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Established in 1966, the Western Hockey League (WHL) is one of the three (3) leagues making up the Canadian Hockey League as the highest level of junior play in Canada and has had its team claim a total of nineteen (19) Memorial Cup championships in its history. Offered here, we present this quartet of WHL game-worn jersey collection of four (4) that dates from 1996 up to 2012. Featuring teams like the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Kamloops Blazers and Edmonton Oil Kings, the group features garments made by both CCM and Reebok that range in size from “52” up to “56”. All featuring brand patches or embroidery over their reverse hems and/or reverse necklines with WHL and/or CHL league patches/embroidery present as well, players featured in the collection include Chris Phillips (Lethbridge Hurricanes – 1996-97 – CCM – size “52” – alternate captain’s “A” – number change from “14” to “77” – team LOA), Ray Macias (Kamloops Blazers – 2004-05 – Reebok – size “56” – team LOA), Chase Schaber (Kamloops Blazers – 2011-12 – Third Jersey – Reebok – size “56” – 30th anniversary and Doris Rubel memorial patches – captain’s “C” – team LOA) and T.J. Foster (Edmonton Oil Kings – 2008-09 – Reebok – size “56” – signed over the reverse – outline of 2009 World Juniors patch observed over right breast). All decorated over the front with beautiful team crests that feature embroidered details, both Kamloops jerseys also display alternate logo or special anniversary/memorial patches over their shoulders. Accented over the sleeves and verso with each players number in layered tackle twill numerals, their names are spelt out in either single layer or heat pressed letters across affixed matching nameplates. All exhibiting excellent signs of game-wear and use, all four jerseys depict things such as paint transfers, board burns, unrepaired holes/cut, pulls, pills, stick marks, team repairs and stains. Additionally, the Foster jersey has been signed by him over the reverse number “6” with a black ink signature that still displays well despite lightness from age and three of the four jerseys included in the lot are accompanied by LOA’s from their respective team as outlined above.
