This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
A franchise that was founded in 2006 and began play with the 2007-08 season, the Edmonton Oil Kings took up the same name as the previous junior franchise that existed from 1950 to 1978 and won Memorial Cup’s in 1963 and 1966. Enjoying a string of three-straight WHL Finals berths between 2012 and 2014 with the last resulting in a Memorial Cup championship, offered here is this pair of 2016-17 Oil Kings signed game-worn jerseys that includes a Davis Murray and a Brayden Gorda alternate. Both made by CCM, each features CCM/CHL, size “56” and Elite Sportswear labeling affixed to the inner collar while CCM and CHL league patches have been added to the reverse necklines and hems of each as well. Decorated over the front of each with differing Oil Kings team crests, WHL league patches have been sewn over the right breast of each jersey while an additional CCM logo crest graces the left breast of each as well. For the Murray example, matching Rogers Place inaugural season patches reside over both shoulders while on the Gorda jersey, only one is present over the right side while an alternate logo patch sits over the left. Having had each player’s respective number in dual layer tackle twill numerals sewn to the sleeves and verso, their respective surnames have been spelt out in single layer twill letters across affixed matching nameplates while each player has signed the reverse of their jersey with black ink signatures that display well despite some bleeding to make note of. Both displaying Oil Kings team tags sewn inside their reverse hems with the Murray showing ones from both 2015-16 and 2016-17, his jersey displays game-wear via stick marks, board burns, paint transfers, unrepaired holes and heavy pilling on the interior while the Gorda exhibits only light wear through a couple of stick marks and board burns.
