A standout in the KHL with Sibir Novosibirsk and CSKA Moscow, Nikita Zaitsev signed an entry level contract with Toronto, in 2016. The Moscow native has also represented Russia internationally, including at the 2019 World Championships. This photo-matched Leafs jersey was worn by Zaitsev during his rookie season, in 2016-17. A label with “58” sizing resides over the inner collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Featuring a vintage style Leafs team crest with “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered, “22” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in oversized white twill, with “Zaitsev” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. The jersey also sports the NHL centennial crest over the right sleeve, with the cuffs customized, with each “taken-in”, shortening the circumference. “2” has also been handwritten over the fight strap to denote second set. Sporting nice game-use, there are burn marks over each lower sleeve, with a large team repair just above each cuff. Getty Image #639388318 (Jan 19, 2017) has been matched to the extended white thread visible at the base of the second “2” of “22” over the left sleeve, with the tiny thin strand at the lower left of the first “2” of “22” also visible. Additionally, Getty Image #642385250 (Feb 14, 2017) has been matched to the extended thread visible just below “2017” within the right side of the NHL Centennial crest over the right sleeve. The team patch resides on the inside hem, with a COA matching the serial number to accompany from the Leafs.
