The 1st overall pick of the 1969 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, O.J. Simpson, who had won the Heisman Trophy in 1968, would win the NFL’s MVP and Offensive Player of the Year Award in 1973 after rushing for a total of 2003 yards. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985, offered here is this Buffalo Bills helmet signed by Simpson. A full-size Schutt made throwback replica model with vintage Bills decals over each side and the team’s blue and red stripes over the top running from front to back, the helmet remains in excellent condition, showing just one small ding near the front left of the buffalo over the right side. Complete with all the padding on the interior as well as the chin strap and cup, Simpson has signed above the Bills logo on the right side of the piece with a black ink signature that displays without issue and has added an inscription reading “The Juice” in matching ink underneath the autograph that also shows in the same condition. Displaying a JSA sticker numbered “WP686681” over the lower reverse, a matching JSA COA will accompany the piece.
