The 1977 Heisman Trophy winner, Texas running back Earl Campbell run roughshod over the NFL after the Houston Oilers drafted him with the No. 1 pick in 1978. Campbell won NFL Rookie of the Year honors and was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year in each of his first three seasons with the Oilers, winning the Associated Press’ NFL Most Valuable Player in 1979 when he lead the league with 1,697 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. One of the best power running backs in NFL history, offered here is this Houston Oilers helmet signed by Campbell. A full-size Riddell made authentic pro model with Oilers decals over each side and the team’s red and blue stripes over the top running from front to back, the helmet remains in excellent condition with a small red coloured scuff over the lower reverse. Complete with all the padding on the interior, chin strap/cup and tags affixed to the left ear, Campbell has signed the right side of the piece alongside the Oilers logo with a black ink signature that displays without issue. Having added an “HOF 91” inscription underneath the autograph in matching ink that shows in the same condition, a Steiner hologram has been affixed to the reverse and is accompanied by a matching Steiner COA.
