Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Known affectionately as “The Grand Ole’ Lady of Carlton Street”, Maple Leaf Gardens stood witness to numerous sporting events and shows throughout its history, serving as the home rink for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1931 to 1999. Offered here and hailing from the hockey shrine, is this original green coloured seat. Displaying a number “14” identifier on the underside of the seat bottom, the coveted seat sports green metal riser-mount legs, and has been nicely mounted to a beige wooden base installed by Maple Leaf Garden Industries. A silver coloured plaque affixed to the base shows an image of MLG’s final season “Memories and Dreams” logo along with the serial number “73-012”. Remaining in excellent condition with just some light wear from both age and use observed throughout that would be expected of something that was used on an almost daily basis during its life, some rusting is seen to the legs of the chair with similar smaller examples of rust also seen on the underside of the base as well. The wooden base also remains in good condition, showing light wear and marks worth pointing out for accuracy. With full dimensions including the base of approx. 24” x 17” x 36”, the seat is sure to be a pleasing addition to any Maple Leafs shrine/collection and is accompanied by a matching LeafsSport COA.
Please note that due to the size and weight of the item special shipping requirements may be required.
