Selected 13th overall by the Calgary Flames at the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Derek Morris would go on to play in over 1000 National Hockey League games over the course of his career, spending ten (10) of his sixteen (16) years in the league with the Phoenix Coyotes. Up for grabs here, we offer this Flames third jersey worn by Morris during the 2000-01 season. Made by KOHO, both “Made in Canada” and size “56” fly tags are affixed to the inner collar above an “NHL Player” label underneath. Having been accented with a KOHO logo patch over the reverse neckline and the NHL shield which has been embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey has been decorated with a Flames “Blasty” alternate logo crest that features both textured and embroidered details while matching primary logo crests sit over each shoulder. Sporting Morris’ number “53” sewn to the sleeves and verso in tri-layer stacked tackle twill numerals, “Morris” is spelt out in similar dual layer style across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting good game wear, stick marks are seen through the team crest and over the lower front as well as both sleeves which also show various board burns and multiple unrepaired holes. Featuring similar wear over the lower reverse (stick marks, board burns and small unrepaired cuts), the collar shows many popped stitches and has been repaired/reinforced on the reverse. Displaying a Flames 2000-2001 team stamp over the interior reverse hem, a matching Flames LOA will accompany the piece.
