The 36th overall pick at the 1992 NHL Entry Draft, Jeff Shantz, a product of the Regina Pats in the WHL, landed in the Windy City as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks and went on to play a total of 642 National Hockey League games in his career. A gold medalist at the 1993 IIHF World Junior Championships, offered here is this Calgary Flames jersey worn by Shantz during the 1999-2000 season. Made by Pro Player, both brand/Authentic Collection and size “54” labels grace the inner collar while the Pro Player and NHL shield logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a familiar Flames team crest in layered tackle twill, the alternate captain’s “A” has been added over the left breast while the NHL 2000 patch resides over the right. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Shantz’s number “11” in layered tackle twill numerals, “Shantz” is spelt out in dual layer red-over-black tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Riddled with game wear throughout the entirety of the body and sleeves via numerous dark stick marks, unrepaired cuts/holes and board burns, light spot stains are also observed in areas with pilling present on the interior. Displaying a Flames team stamp over the interior reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being a “1999-2000 White Jersey #2 of 3” specimen”, Shantz has signed the underside of the fight strap with a black marker ink signature that displays well.
