A product of the Michigan State University Spartans in the NCAA, Don McSween was drafted 84th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 1983 and went on to play a total of 47 National Hockey League games over five (5) years split between Buffalo and Anaheim. Offered here from their inaugural year of play is this Mighty Ducks jersey worn by McSween in 1993-94. Made by CCM, both Maska and size “54” tags are affixed to the inner collar while the CCM and NHL emblems have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Mighty Ducks team crest, the left shoulder features the FGW "mouse ears" patch that was sewn onto the jersey for the team's final three road games after Disney president Frank Wells died in a helicopter crash late in the season. Having had McSween’s number “39” sewn to the sleeves and verso in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, “McSween” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting game wear via board burns and small unrepaired cuts over both sleeves, the body on both the lower front and reverse as well as the left cuff display stick marks with the front also showing additional board burns and a small unrepaired hole. Littered with multiple team repairs over the right sleeve and a couple popped stitches at the back of the collar seam, a Mighty Ducks “Inaugural Season Set 2” team tag is sewn inside the reverse hem on the interior and is joined by a heavily salted/rusted fight strap. A MeiGray COR will accompany the piece.
