Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
The first season the NHL franchise from Detroit utilized the moniker "Falcons", the 1930-31 season witnessed the club finish 4th in the American Division. This Olympia Falcons program hails from the 1930-31 season and was produced for a match against Boston. Sporting a beautiful hockey scene to the cover along with the original 10 cent purchase price, the line-up is intact, with a number of HOFers present including Frank Fredrickson, Eddie Shore, Tiny Thompson, Harry Oliver and others. The interior is detached from the covers, with clear tape added to the cover. There are a few edge tears along with small areas of paper loss, including to the back cover. As an added bonus, a 1928-29 Olympia program for the Canadian Professional Hockey League is included, with this produced for the Detroit Olympics vs the Kitchener Flying Dutchmen (the Olympics finished in first place in 1928-29, but lost in the final to Windsor). The program has the date of "Jan 26, 1929" handwritten to the cover, with the scored line-up detached but present, with a small newspaper clipping affixed to the page with a paper clip.
