A gold medalist with his native Sweden at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games and a Stanley Cup champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004, Fredrik Modin would skate in a total of 898 NHL games over the course of his career and is a member of the famed “Triple Gold Club”. Presented here, is this Tampa Bay Lightning jersey worn by Modin during the 2001-02 season. Made by KOHO, both “Made in Canada” and size “58” labels are affixed to the inner collar alongside a Lightning team stamp that denotes the jersey as a “2001 Set #1” specimen. Displaying a KOHO crest over the reverse neckline, the NHL shield has been embroidered into the reverse hem while the front has been decorated with a Lightning team crest that features both textured and embroidered details. Accented over the right breast with Tampa Bay’s 10 years anniversary patch and over both shoulders with matching alternate logo crests, the sleeves and verso have had Modin’s number “33” sewn to them in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while “Modin” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting excellent game wear throughout, dark stick marks are observed over the lower front, the reverse, both sleeves and the shoulders while both sleeves display board burns and numerous unrepaired holes. Showcasing a total of five (5) team repairs at the right elbow and pilling on the interior, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #1254844597 (November 21st, 2001 vs Washington) to stick marks over Modin’s left collar bone, first “3” on the left sleeve and lower front as well as the blue coloured mark to the right of the left shoulder crest. A matching Lightning COA will accompany the piece.
