Dubbed “The Grand Ole’ Lady of Carlton Street”, Maple Leaf Gardens, the hockey temple that it was, stood strong as the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1931 to 1999 with both the first and final games being contested between the Leafs and Blackhawks. Offered here, is this framed display that showcases a print of the program cover from the final game that took place on February 13th, 1999 and has been signed by eleven (11) former Maple Leafs stars and hall of famers. Framed to full dimensions of 20 ½” x 26” with the program cover print itself measuring out to 10 ½” x 14 ½”, the piece has been double matted under both white and black velvet and is housed in a simple black frame with no glass that shows some wear to the edges and corners that is worth noting for accuracy. Featuring a pair of Maple Leafs logo lapel pins along the bottom, the pair have been placed on either side of a gold coloured metal plaque that displays the names of former Maple Leafs captains that have signed the piece. Serial numbered “533/2500” in pencil and signed by the artist in matching style underneath, the piece has been signed by eleven (11) including HOFers Horner, Armstrong, Kennedy, Sittler, Keon and Sundin as well as Ramage, Gilmour, Clark, Smith and Vaive. All having penned their autographs in matching black marker ink, the signatures show moderate but even fading while still remaining legible. A JSA sticker numbered “B95632” is affixed at the bottom right corner and is accompanied by a matching JSA LOA.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
