Enjoying a run of twenty-five seasons in the PCHL and WHL, the Vancouver Canucks, who would eventually become a National Hockey League franchise for the beginning of the 1970-71 season, would win a total of six (6) championships between 1945 and 1970 while five (5) former Canucks including Johnny Bower, Allan Stanley, Gump Worsley, Andy Bathgate and Tony Esposito. Winning back-to-back championships in their final two WHL seasons of 1968-69 and 1969-70, offered here, and hailing from the era of the mid-to-late-1960s, we present this WHL Vancouver Canucks jersey. Made by Sand-Knit, the classic tie-neck style durene material garment sports a Sand-Knit tag affixed to the inner collar that displays a size "46" designation at the bottom. Decorated with "Canucks" arched across the chest in single layer blue tackle twill letters, the front, sleeves and verso have had the number "17" sewn to them in matching single layer blue tackle twill numerals. Sans fight strap on the interior and sporting light pilling/fraying at the elbows, the jersey displays game-wear via stick marks over the left sleeve, board burns over the reverse hem and left sleeve, team repairs to the left sleeve (x2), lower front (x1) and reverse (x1) while unprepared holes are present over the same areas. WIth a myriad of brown/rust coloured stains through the interior and exterior of the piece, research shows that this style of jersey was worn by the Canucks between 1964-65 and 1967-68 with those that wore the number "17" over the time including names such as Bob Plager (1964-65 - 31GP), Larry Cohan (1964-65 - 26GP), Wayne Muloin (1965-66 - 15GP), Ron Boehm (1966-67 - 71GP), Dan Belisle (1967-68 - 66GP) and Al McLean (1967-68 - 3GP). A beautiful surviving relic from the game of yesteryear.
