A veteran of 549 games played in the National Hockey League who played all but 40 of them in the uniform of the Vancouver Canucks, Jim Sandlak, more affectionately known as "The House" due to his large stature, would also win a silver medal at 1986 World Junior Championships as a member of Team Canada. Finishing his career with with totals of 110 goals and 229 points along with 821 penalty minutes, offered here is this Canucks jersey worn by Sandlak during the 1988-89 season. Made by CCM and sporting a washed out Maska Ultrafil label affixed to the inner collar, the jersey measures out to roughly a size "50" for its effort and a tonal black and orange coloured CCM logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with Vancouver's now famous "Flying Skate" team crest that features embroidered details throughout it, the Babe Pratt memorial patch that was added to the jerseys by the club after Pratt's passing on December 16th, 1988 is affixed over the right breast. Signed by Sandlak with a black marker ink signature over the left breast that displays without issue, the sleeves and verso of the garment have had Sandlak's number "19" sewn to them in dual layer black-over-orange tackle twill numerals while "Sandlak" is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting excellent game wear throughout, including stick marks throughout the body and both sleeves, team repairs totalling 60+ by our count are dotted over the sleeves in heavy numbers around the numbers. With additional battle scars present in the form of board paint transfers and board burns on both sleeves as well as fabric snags over the entirety of the piece, the fight strap is still present on the interior along with good pilling.
