Drafted 2nd overall by the Washington Capitals in 1978, Ryan Walter would play a total of 1003 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career that was split between three (3) teams including Washington, Montreal and Vancouver. Suiting up for his native Canada on numerous occasions and winning a Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1986 over the Calgary Flames, offered here is this Habs jersey worn by Walter that has been photo-matched to the 1986 Stanley Cup Finals. Made by CCM and sporting a washed out partially detached Maska Ultrafil tag affixed to the inner collar with a born-on date label reading "86 01" found behind it, the CCM logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem which has been shortened to Walter's preference. Decorated over the front with Montreal's famed "CH" logo in layered tackle twill, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Walter's number "11" in dual layer blue-over-red tackle twill numerals, "Walter" is found spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching, albeit off-center, nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting good game-wear via team repairs over the sleeves, front and reverse, additional wear is present over all three areas via light stick marks and coloured board paint transfers. Showing an additional repair from at the collar, needed because of fight damage, the fight strap is present on the interior, which also displays some pilling worth mentioning for accuracy. Regarding the aforementioned photo-matches, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #80906434 (May 22nd, 1986 vs Calgary - Stanley Cup Finals Game 4) to the placement of the heavily off-center nameplate on the upper reverse and to the shortened hem at the bottom of the jersey.
