Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Founded in 1927 as the first professional hockey team in the City of Brotherly Love, the Philadelphia Arrows played in the Canadian-American Hockey League, and were coached by HOFer Herb Gardiner from 1927 to 1941, when the club folded. We offer a pair of rare original Arrows team photos from the 1929-30 season, with each featuring Gardiner along with fellow HOFer Art Coulter. At approx 11" x 14", one image features the club in the traditional on-ice team photo, while the second contains composite images of each player along with Gardiner. Each photo shows heavy wear including toning, creases and edge tears, with some of the damage possibly hidden with quality framings. We should also note that the photos originate from the personal collection of two-time Stanley Cup champion Art Coulter.
