Playing a combined total of 340 games during their respective junior hockey careers in the WHL, all of which for both were spent wearing the uniforms of the Calgary Hitmen, offered here is this collection of two (2) Hitmen game-worn jerseys worn by Matt Kinch in 1997-98 and Matthew Armitage in 2017-18. Starting with the Kinch offering, the jersey is made by CCM and sports both “Made in Canada” and size “56” tags affixed to the inner collar while both the CCM and CHL logos have been embroidered into the rear hem. A black, grey and pink ensemble with a flame design sublimated near the end of each sleeve, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Hitmen team crest that included embroidered details while the sleeves and verso have been accented with Kinch’s number “2” in dual-layer tackle twill numerls while “Kinch” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Displaying a Hitmen team stamp over the inside of the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as a “1997-98 W.H.L Season” offering, wear is found throughout via stick marks, unrepaired holes/cuts, board burns and light pilling on the interior.
For the Armitage jersey, worn by him during Calgary’s 2017-18 campaign, is a third jersey done as throwback homage to the team’s original jersey’s like the one worn by Kinch in the mid-to-late-1990s. Once again made by CCM, brand/CHL labeling is affixed to the collar along with partially sewn over “Goalie Style” and size “58” tags. Decorated over the front with a similar style Hitmen team crest that displays with embroidered details, matching Hitmen alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder. Sporting WHL and CCM patches over the right and left collarbone areas on the front respectively, additional CCM and CHL patches are present over the reverse neckline and hem as well while a 100th anniversary Memorial Cup patch has been added to the right sleeve. Accented with Armitage’s number “33” over the sleeves and verso, “Armitage” is spelt out over the affixed nameplate in single layer white twill letters. Sporting wear via a few puck marks over the sleeves and body along with some light pilling and fabric snags, a team LOA will accompany the jersey as well.
