Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Sharing the claim of being the top German trained player to ever be drafted into the National Hockey League (Tim Stutzle being the other), Leon Draisaitl has more than impressed since the Edmonton Oilers took him 3rd overall in 2014, registering 744 points through his first nine seasons in the league. Up for grabs here, is this stick used by Draisaitl during the early-2020s with the Oilers. A Warrior Alpha DX model, Draisaitl wielded this specific model of stick during both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns. Displaying with “Draisaitl” factory graphics over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the handle and knob with the blade tape having been removed to facilitate Leon’s large silver ink signature that displays well over the forehand side of the blade. Exhibiting moderate game-use, the stick shows various marks/abrasions over both sides of the lower shaft, heel and blade with other wear marks/abrasions seen throughout the rest of the shaft as well. Of note, an Oilers team hologram numbered “19268” that has been affixed just under the handle tape.
