Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Having become one of the National Hockey League’s most dominate forwards in the last few seasons, Leon Draisaitl's NHL journey began while the Edmonton Oilers selected him 3rd overall in the 2014 Entry Draft. The Art Ross and Hart Memory Trophy winner for the 2019-20 season, up for grabs here is this photo-matched helmet worn by Draisaitl during his rookie campaign of 2014-15 in which he would register 9 points in 37 games played. A CCM Vector 08 Pro model bucket in plain white with an Oakley branded visor attached to the front, matching Oilers logo decals grace each side, with Leon’s number “29” found over the crown and lower reverse. Sporting an NHL shield sticker affixed over the back side, the helmet remains in excellent condition and shows just light wear through various minor scratches and scuffs that are worth mentioning for accuracy. Having signed the top of the helmet with a blue marker ink signature that displays well despite some minor wear and scratching, an Oilers hologram numbered “16653” has been placed behind the left ear and is accompanied by a matching Oilers LOA while a team inventory tag is found attached to the right ear loop.
Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, the helmet is photo-matched with Getty Image #460280640 (November 28th vs St. Louis) to the bit of dark coloured wear at the bottom of the size adjustment clip on the left side of the piece.
