Hailing from a season that saw him register 33 goals and 36 assists in which he played in all 82 of the Capitals games, offered here is this Washington Capitals practice jersey worn by Russian sniper, Alexander Ovechkin, during the 2016-17 season. Made by Reebok, a single size “58” tag is affixed to the inner collar while a Reebok jock tag also displaying the size “58” designation is sewn over the front hem. Sporting the crests of the NHL shield and Reebok over the front and reverse necklines respectively, the jersey is decorated on the front with a Capitals team crest that features embroidered details along with a MedStar Health sponsorship patch over the right breast and an additional Reebok patch over the left breast. Having not been accented with Ovi’s famed number “8” over the sleeves or verso, the jersey shows evidence of wear via some stick marks and board burns over both sleeves with more stick marks present over the lower front and left shoulder along with a small unrepaired cut near the right cuff. Displaying with evidence of numerous washings, Ovechkin’s number “8” is penned to the front side of the fight strap in black marker and pilling is found on the interior. A MeiGray tag numbered “N06290” is sewn inside the reverse hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White Practice Jersey w/ MedStar Health Patch” specimen and is accompanied by a matching LOA
