A veteran of 696 National Hockey League games, Anton Volchenkov’s NHL journey started after being drafted 21st overall in 2000 by the Ottawa Senators. Representing his native Russia on numerous occasions throughout his career, including at the 2006 and 2010 Olympic Games, up for grabs here is this Senators jersey worn by Volchenkov during the 2009-10 regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs. Made by Reebok and sporting a single size “58+” tag affixed to the inner collar, crests for both the NHL and Reebok sit over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the chest with a familiar Senators team crest that features both textured and embroidered details, matching alternate logo patches reside on top of each shoulder as well. Accented with Volchenkov’s number “24” that has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer red-over-black tackle twill numerals, “Volchenkov” is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting good game-wear, stick marks, board burns and team repairs are present over both sleeves with additional wear observed via board burns behind the left shoulder and spots of blue board paint transfer on the lower reverse to go along with pilling on the interior. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #98550906 (April 16th, 2010 vs Pittsburgh - ECQF Game 2) to the team repair under the "2" on the left sleeve. A MeiGray tag numbered “G07401” is sewn inside the rear hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White Set 3” specimen. A matching LOA will accompany the piece.
