Originally drafted 85th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Aaron Johnson would go on to an NHL career that spanned 291 games with six different clubs including Columbus, New York, Calgary, Edmonton, Chicago and Boston. Up for grabs here, is this AHL Hartford Wolfpack captain’s jersey worn by Johnson while playing for the team during the 2013-14 season. Made by Reebok with both size “58” and AHL/Reebok tagging affixed to the inner collar, additional Reebok logo patches are found over the reverse neckline and hem respectively with the hem one joined by an AHL crest as well. Decorated over the front with “Hartford” going diagonally down the chest in dual layer drop shadow tackle twill letters, the distinguished captain’s “C” has been added over the left breast. Sporting both Wolfpack and NHL Rangers patches over the left and right shoulders, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Johnson’s number “44” in tri-layer tackle twill numerals with “Johnson” spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Of note, the second “4” of the left sleeve ripped and partially come away from the jersey. Exhibiting game-wear via numerous stick marks over both sleeves and the lower front, staining is seen in the same areas with a small tear to the lower front hem also being observed along with pilling on the interior. A Steiner hologram numbered “241339” has been placed over the size tag and is accompanied by a matching Steiner LOA.
