Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Articles were already being written about a young man named Wayne Gretzky when he took part in the famous Quebec International Pee-Wee tournament in February of 1974, with the young phenom wowing onlookers at the tourney with his talents and 26 goals over the course of the event as a member of the Brantford squad, listed on page 15 of this 24-page program. Up for grabs here is this program from the 1974 Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament program plus puck from the event dominated by Gretzky. Remaining in overall excellent condition for its age, a pen mark, a pair of small tears, toning and light surface wear is observed over the front cover while the interior pages have been tastefully scored in both the bracket and partially beside the schedule with the eliminated teams crossed out in red marker. Showing wear through light toning to the inner pages, the back cover shows a couple of pen marks, a small tear along the bottom, and some surface wear/creasing along the spine as well. For the puck, a CCM3 slug with “Made in Canada” on the side and the tournament logo on the top, light wear is seen on the logo face and sides via a couple of scuffs and small while the logo itself also shows just light wear. Additionally, a small cut is seen on the reverse side and some dents are present around the edges of both faces. A rare opportunity to grab some items from the early days of The Great One’s path to stardom, don't miss out on these!
