Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

Finishing the regular season with a record of 38-5-1, the Boston Bruins of 1929-30 defended its American Division title for the second straight season, taking advantage of new rules and using a powerhouse lineup to set three records including most wins in a single regular season (38), most regular season wins on home ice (20), and the best single season winning percentage in NHL history (0.875) – a record which still stands, in the process. Defeated by the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final, presented here is this 1929-30 Boston Bruins team photo. Measuring 7 ½” x 10” and matted to full dimensions of 11” x 13”, the black and white photograph displays Hockey Hall of Fame inductees such as Shore, Ross (coach), Weilland, Thompson, Clapper, Oliver, Barry and MacKay. Displaying the printed signatures of all those in the image found near the bottom, light watermarks are seen on the matting while the photo itself remains in near mint condition.
