Serving as a Boston Bruins affiliate and playing just a trio of seasons in the AHL from 1971 to 1974, the Boston Braves tied for first place in their first season, and with having less goals against, were crowned regular season champions. This 10K gold ring was produced for the Braves first place overall finish in the AHL in 1971-72 and was presented to Milt Schmidt, the team's GM. Size 7 1/2 with a weight of 34 grams, a large red stone sits centered over the tableau, with "Boston" above and "Braves" below in raised, slanted letters. The right shank sports has "Schmidt" above along with crossed hockey sticks, while the left shank has a raised Braves Indian head logo with "Season Championship" above. The inner band is stamped "FOUR 0K" (Balfour 10K) and "13". There is a small blemish to the inner band, with scratches and a few small dings along edges of the band and shanks. The ring is accompanied by what is most likely the original Balfour box.
