Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
A 1996 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Jim Bunning would hurl both a perfect game and a no-hitter during his career and sat 2nd in career strikeouts at the time of his retirement in 1971. Eventually going on serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and the United States Senate, offered here we have this copy of Bunning’s 1957 Topps rookie card that been deemed worthy of a VG-EX 4 grade from PSA. Shown in a simple pose over the front during his early career years with the Detroit Tigers, the card displays off-center from right-to-left and shows light toning along with some corner wear/rounding to go with some colour lightness as well. Sporting an extremely clean and vivid reverse, the card is housed in a PSA holder that shows light scratches over both sides that are worth mentioning. A true classic first-year offering of one of the best pitchers in the era, don’t miss out!
