Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Making his MLB debut for the New York Mets in 1984, center fielder Herm Winningham would play the next four seasons in Montreal, and would win a World series championship with Cincinnati in 1990. From his third season in Quebec, we have an Expos jersey worn by the South Carolina native in 1987. Rawlings labeling is affixed to the collar along with "42" sizing and "42 87" size/year swatch. Featuring an Expos team crest to the left breast in tackle twill, "3" is sewn to the chest and verso in single blue twill, with "Winningham" arching above in matching material. The jersey shows use, with light dirt staining in areas including the placket.
