Having made two Memorial Cup appearances during his junior hockey career, winning it once in 1993 with the Soo Greyhounds, Dan Cloutier would go on to a National Hockey League career that spanned ten (10) years with five (5) of them spent on Canada’s west coast, tending the goal for the Vancouver Canucks. Offered here, we present this vintage style Canucks jersey worn by Cloutier during the 2003-04 season. Made by CCM and featuring “Goalie Style” plus size “58” tags affixed to the inner collar, a CCM logo patch has been sewn over the rear hem alongside an embroidered NHL shield emblem. Modeled after the jerseys Vancouver wore during the 1972-73 season, the front is decorated with a classic “stick in rink” logo crest while the NHL Vintage Series program patch has been added over the right breast. Accented with Cloutier’s number “39” in single layer blue tackle twill numerals, “Cloutier” is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Worn for just a pair of contests (November 18th 2003 vs Montreal and December 27th vs Edmonton), the jersey shows light wear through a handful of puck marks over both sleeves and the reverse right side. Showing “#39 Cloutier” penned over the fight strap in black ink, a MeiGray tag numbered “B09706” is sewn inside the reverse hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White Vintage Set 1” specimen. Accompanied by a matching LOA, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #2887255 (December 27th vs Edmonton) to the puck mark under the numbers on the right sleeve.
