Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

Topping the NHL with 78 points, the Montreal Canadiens were led by Maurice Richard's 71 points in 1946-47, and after defeating Boston in the semifinals, met the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup finals. Losing the final 4 games to 2, the Rocket would claim the Hart Trophy, with Bill Durnan securing the Vezina. This panoramic photo features the 1946-47 Stanley Cup finalist Canadiens. At just under 8" x 20" and captured by Rice, the full squad is pictured lined-up, including Richard, Blake, Lach, Bouchard, Reardon, Durnan and others. There is some silvering to the image, with no other issues visible. Set into an 8" x 20" period frame, the photo displays beautifully. Accompanying, we have a Canada Post signed Jean Beliveau lithograph set in a frame (15" x 15") with Canada Post stamps affixed. Signed in silver marker, the limited-edition number of "86/1000" is handwritten beneath. A COA will come with the litho.
