Originally selected 139th overall by Phoenix at the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Robert Esche would go on to play 186 National Hockey League games split between the Coyotes and Philadelphia Flyers. Representing the United States numerous times over the course of his career, offered here is this blocker worn by Esche during the 2001-02 season, and it’s been photo-matched! An Eagle brand TB15 model with “Esche” embroidered over the wrist, the blocker is done up in the Coyotes’ colour scheme of green, maroon, black and white. Sporting considerable game-use, puck marks are found throughout the entirety of the piece as well as fraying at the nylon and leather edges with a tear observed to the front right corner at the bottom. As for the aforementioned photo-matches, the blocker is matched with Getty Image #530119 (September 19th vs Vancouver) to the numerous puck marks seen on the front side of the piece.
