Drafted 59th overall by the New York Islanders in 1986 and winning a Calder Cup in 1990 as a member of the Springfield Indians, Bill Berg would play a total of 546 games in the National Hockey League, spending most of that time wearing the blue and white of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Offered here, is this photo-matched Maple Leafs jersey worn by Berg during the 1995-96 season. Made by CCM and displaying both size “54” and Maska Ultrafil labels affixed to the inner collar, both the CCM and NHL shield emblems have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a familiar Maple Leafs team crest that has “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered, matching alternate logo Leafs crests reside over each shoulder. Having had Berg’s number “10” sewn to the sleeves and verso in single layer blue twill numerals, “Berg” has been spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Displaying a Maple Leafs team patch sewn inside the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as a “1995-1996 Game Worn 3 of 6 Limited Edition” offering, the jersey exhibits game-wear via stick marks, board burns and small unrepaired cuts/holes over both sleeves and the front as well as some sweat staining around both sides of the collar. Accompanied by a Leafs LOA signed by President and GM Cliff Fletcher, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #890803236 (February 24th, 1996 vs Dallas) to the dark stick mark at Berg’s right elbow between the two blue sleeve stripes.
