The first overall pick at the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Bryan Berard would never play for the club, instead splitting up his National Hockey League career of 619 games between the Islanders, Maple Leafs, Rangers, Bruins, Blackhawks and Blue Jackets. Finding himself back where it all began for his final NHL campaign, offered here is this New York Islanders jersey worn by Berard during the 2007-08 season. Made by Reebok, a lone size “56” tag is affixed to the inner collar which displays a handwritten “2” at the top in black ink for “set 2”. Accented over the front and reverse necklines with crests of the NHL shield and Reebok respectively, the front of the jersey is decorated with a familiar Islanders team crest that features embroidered details below a classic tie-neck collar. Featuring a patch over the right shoulder that makes reference to the Islanders four (4) Stanley Cup championships, the front, sleeves and verso have had Berard’s number “4” sewn to them in dual layer tackle twill numerals while “Berard” has been spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting just light game-wear, a board burn is observed over the left elbow while stick mark is seen through the team crest. Additionally, a couple of small stains are found over the team crest as well. Having had a MeiGray patch numbered “E08191” sewn inside the reverse hem, according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Navy Set 2” offering. A matching LOA will accompany the piece.
