Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

A Montreal Canadiens draft choice in 1992, David Wilkie played in parts of four seasons for the Habs before moving on to Tampa, and then played the final game of his NHL career in 2000-01, seeing just one game with the New York Rangers. This Rangers jersey was worn by Wilkie in his lone game with the club, on October 14th vs Pittsburgh. A size "56" fly tag is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Koho crests to the reverse hem and back neckline respectively. Styled with “Rangers” arching across the chest in individual drop-shadow tackle twill letters, “36” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with the dual-clasp fight strap intact. Worn for just a single contest, game-wear is light, with a few marks over the front band along with two very small holes. The team patch resides on the inside hem, and it denotes the jersey as a "Set 2" specimen.
