A lanky defenceman who was originally the 20th overall pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks, Mike Wilson would a National Hockey League career that spanned 336 games split between Buffalo, Florida, Pittsburgh and New York after three solid years of junior with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. Offered here, is this Penguins jersey worn by Wilson during the 2001-02 season. Made by KOHO, the inner collar features both size “54” and “Made in Canada” tags that have been affixed with the latter of the two showing a “6” that has been handwritten in black ink. Displaying a KOHO patch over the reverse neckline and an embroidered NHL shield over the reverse hem, the front of the jersey has been decorated with a Penguins team crest that features both textured and embroidered details while Wilson’s number “6” have been sewn over the sleeves and verso in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals with “Wilson” spelt out in single layer white glacier twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Showing just light game-use, a small number of stick marks and board burns are found over each sleeve with additional burns over the reverse as well. Additionally, an unrepaired cut is present near the right cuff. An LOA from Penguins Chronicles will accompany the piece.
