Drafted 153rd overall by the Tampa Bay Lighting in 1997, Andrei Skopintsev would play a total of 40 games in the National Hockey League between the Lightning and Atlanta Thrashers in his career while also suiting up in over 500 professional contests in his native Russia. Also representing his homeland at the IIHF World Championships on five (5) occasions between 1995 and 2004, offered here is this Tampa Bay third jersey worn by Skopintsev during his first NHL season of 1998-99. Made by CCM, both “Goalie Style” and size “60” labels are affixed to the inner collar while the emblems of CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the jersey’s reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Tampa Bay team crest that exhibited a mixture of textured and embroidered details, a 1999 NHL All-Star Game patch, which was hosted by the Lightning, has been added over the right breast. A lightning storm and angry ocean design, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Skopintsev's number “46” in dual layer tackle twill numerals while “ Skopintsev” has been spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching arched nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting just light game-wear, a dark stick mark is observed through the team crest on the front while some spot stains are seen throughout the garment.
