A first round draft choice of the now-defunct Hartford Whalers in 1995, Jean-Sebastien Giguere would backstop the Whalers, Flames, Ducks, Maple Leafs and Avalanche over the course of his 16-year National Hockey League career. The 2003 Conn Smythe Trophy winner despite not winning the Cup, Giguere would avenge the defeat by helping the Ducks to Lord Stanley’s mug in 2007. Up for grabs here, is this Maple Leafs jersey worn by Giguere during the 2010-11 season. Made by Reebok with both “Goalie Style” and size “58” tagging affixed to the inner collar, the crests of the NHL shield and Reebok are found over the front and reverse neckline respectively. Decorated over the front with a Maple Leafs team crest that has “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered into it, matching alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Giguere’s number “35” with “Giguere” spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting good game-wear with stick and puck marks through the front crest and right shoulder patch as well as an unrepaired cut over the lower front. Additional wear is observed though puck marks that dot both sleeves, red post paint rubbing at both elbows and pilling at both cuffs. A Leafs team tag denoting the piece as a “2010-11 Season Game-Worn” specimen is sewn inside the rear hem and is accompanied by a matching Leafs COA.
Regarding the aforementioned photo-matches, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #108714370 (February 1st, 2011 vs Florida) to the pucks that are seen in the team crest, right sleeve shoulder patch, right sleeve number “5” and left sleeve number “3”.
