Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Stepping into the lineup of the New York Islanders at 19 years of age for the 1975-76 season, Bryan Trottier would register 32 goals and 63 assists for 95 points during his rookie campaign, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s best rookie. Originally offered as part of Trottier’s personal collection, up for grabs here is this watch that The Sporting News presented to him in recognition of being named the winner of their NHL Rookie of the Year award for the 1975-76 season. A Bulova Accuquartz model with a brown leather band, the gold coloured face and bezel shows light scratches throughout with rusting at the top while the reverse has been engraved with "The Sporting News, Bryan Trottier, N.H.L. Rookie of the Year, 1975-76" and remains nice and clearly legible. No longer running due to a dead battery, the hands move free and easy with the dial making this a stylish keepsake for any Hall of Fame/Islanders collection.
